One vehicle accident leaves teen injured

A Bismarck teenager was injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on Loughboro Road in St. Francois County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol report indicated 19-year-old Virgil Ashley was driving a 1999 Buick Century westbound on Loughboro when his car ran off the right side of road and struck a tree.

Ashley was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident. He was taken by a St. Francois County Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis with serious injuries.

The accident happened at 3:40 p.m. Monday on Loughboro just west of Russell Road.
