Southeast coaches select 17 MAAA players to All-Region teams
With the State volleyball sectionals and quarterfinals completed this past weekend, the Southeast Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association (MHSVCA) released the selections for their All-Region teams.
The Mineral Area Activities Association Conference had 17 players selected to the four teams after having two of their 12 teams win their respective district championships and three more placing second.
Farmington had three seniors, setter Kourtney Knox and hitters Mattie Bradley and Kaitlyn Gilliam named to the Class 4 First Team. The Knights were District champions in Class 4.
The Bismarck Indians, winners of Class 1, District 4, had two sophomore hitters, Brilee Henson and Kayla Johnston, selected to the Class 1 First Team.
North County senior Kourtney Kekec received First Team honors in Class 3, and junior Emily Eaton received Honorable Mention.
Central’s Megan Skaggs was also selected to the Class 3 First Team with senior Sydney Skaggs making the Second Team, and senior Kenzie Jones receiving Honorable Mention.
Riley Meyer and Emma Basler were named to the Class 3 Second Team as juniors from Ste. Genevieve.
In Class 2, both senior Kristen Williams and junior Megan Williams were both named to the First Team for Arcadia Valley, along with senior Susan Roth and sophomore Hannah Bahr from Valle Catholic. Junior Cassandra Moulton received Honorable Mention.

Seen here in the district championship game against Poplar Bluff, Farmington’s seniors Mattie Bradley (5), Kourtney Knox (12) and Kaitlyn Gilliam (9) were all named to the Coaches All Region First Team in Class 4.

Bismarck’s Kayla Johnston (8) and Central’s Megan Skaggs (2) were both selected by the Southeast Region coaches as First Team players. Johnston was named to the Class 1 team, and Skaggs was named to the Class 4 team.
