Miners remember Pea Ridge
About 70 miners gathered Oct. 12 for their biannual reunion at Potosi City Park.
Miners and their spouses visited with each other and reminisced about the past and talked about old memories at Pea Ridge. Miners came from Bonne Terre, Bourbon, Cadet, Desloge, Farmington, Leadwood, Lonedell, Luebbering, Owensville, Park Hills, Potosi, Richwoods, St. Clair and Sullivan.
Many miners have died since the closing of the mine in 1977 but the remaining miners have a very close bond. The next reunion is scheduled Sept. 25, 2016, at pavilion 1 in Potosi City Park.
