Iron County scouts collect food

Local scouts, family members and friends from Troop 403 and Pack 403 hit the streets Nov. 15 to pick up a total of 4,861 food items donated in this year’s “Scouting for Food” program.

The items were collected for three food pantries: Arcadia Valley Food Pantry received 3,468 items, Bellevue Food Pantry received 918 items and, for the first time, scouts living in the Caledonia and Belgrade area picked up 475 items that went to Belgrade’s Liberty Baptist Church Food Pantry.

Troop 403 and Pack 403 are part of the Ozark Trailblazers District that consists of 17 troops, 18 packs, six crews and two posts. Together, the district collected 41,668 food items for donation to local food pantries.
