Larry J. Pettus Sr.

SAINTE GENEVIEVE — Larry J. Pettus Sr., 75, of Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Des Peres, Missouri. He was born Friday, September 8, 1939, in Bonne Terre, Missouri. On Saturday, September 4, 1965, Larry married Mary Jean (Joggerst) Pettus.

Larry was a member of American Legion Post 150, Knights of Columbus #1848 in Bloomsdale, Missouri; Western Catholic Union, Sts. Phillip & James Parish; and he served in the US Army from 1961-1964.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Pettus of Sainte Genevieve; son, Larry Pettus Jr. of Weingarten; daughter, Cynthia (John) Hermann of Bloomsdale; sisters, Marie Young of Bonne Terre, Betty Oshia of Bonne Terre, Shirley Christopher of Bonne Terre and Larraine Jokerst of Sainte Genevieve; brother-in-law, Dennis Gosling of Bonne Terre; grandchildren, Adam (Laura) Pettus, Jonathan Hermann, Kimberly Pettus, Thomas Hermann, Matthew Hermann and Mackenzie Pettus; and great-granddaughter, Ella Jean Pettus.

He was preceded in death by, sister, Frances Gosling; brother, Firmin Pettus Jr., and parents, Firmin Pettus Sr. and Christine (Rosener) Pettus.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, at Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve. An American Legion service will be held 7 p.m.; and a Knights of Columbus service at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Sts. Philip & James with Rev. Gregory Klump officiating Burial will be at Sts. Philip & James in River Aux Vases, Missouri. Military Graveside Services Performed by VFW Post 2210. Memorials can be made to Masses
