Several holiday events planned
Home For The Holidays Friday
The Madison County Chamber of Commerce “Home for the Holidays” event will be this Friday.
The celebration will kick off at 6 p.m. with the Christmas Parade which will start at the corner of College and S. Mine La Motte and travel up Mine La Motte. It will turn up East Main, go around the courthouse and then down West Main. Finally, the route will continue down South Wood, ending just past Stockhoff Nursing Home.
There will also be free carriage rides until 8 p.m. when the festivities end. Project Graduation 2015 will have Santa Claus at Melissa’s Magic Touch on North Main (across from the county jail) so people can purchase pictures with Santa and refreshments. The Madison County Chamber would also like to encourage everyone to please stop in downtown and visit the businesses which are staying open for this event.

‘A Hometown Christmas’ Saturday in Marquand
Celebrate “A Hometown Christmas” at 7 p.m., Saturday.
Some of the finest talent in the region will gather at Homan Hall in Marquand. The program will be followed by home-baked goodies and lots of Christmas Cheer.
Arrive early to take in the lighted exhibits in the Village of Marquand Historical Park, as well as neighboring homes.

R-I schools to host performances
The Fredericktown High School music department is hosting its Madrigal Dinner on Dec. 6 at the middle school cafetorium. Performances will be held at 12:30 and 6:30. Contact the high school for more information.
The Kelly A. Burlison Middle School will host the Christmas Choral Concert on Dec. 7 at 2:00 in the middle school cafetorium.
Get your pet a photo with Santa
Santa is visiting Madison County Farm Supply this Saturday, and wants your pet to come sit on his lap for a photo moment. Donations for pet photos will be accepted and then given to the local animal shelter. Children love Santa too, so you are invited to bring the little ones (no true age limit) to Madison County Farm Supply this Saturday as well. Santa will be available from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
St. Michael Church Craft Fair
The St. Michael the Archangel Church Arts and Crafts Fair will be 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday. There will be baked goods, breakfast, and lunch, as well as many handmade crafts.
Follis & Sons Bell Service
The Annual Follis & Sons Memorial Bell Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home chapel. Call 573-783-8336 for more details.
