City, board filings

Two incumbents on the Farmington City Council have filed for the April election.

Incumbents Garett Boatright and Dennis Smith have each filed for the seat in Ward IV and III, respectively. The seat in Ward IV is the only contested race at this time, with Andrew Hardy filing as well. John Crouch has filed for the seat in Ward II. As of press time, incumbents David Holman in Ward II and John Robinson in Ward I have not filed.

Filing for city attorney (prosecutor) is Kevan Karraker.

All positions are two-year terms.

The filing deadline for those interested in running for the Farmington City Council is 5 p.m. on Jan. 20 at Farmington City Hall.

The Farmington Board of Education has two incumbents filing for re-election as of press time.

Delores Howard and Jeff Lawson both filed for an additional term on the school board. Both Howard and Lawson are completing their first term. All positions are two-year terms.

Persons interested in running for the school board may file at the board of education building at 1022 Ste. Genevieve Ave. on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Jan. 20.
