Weekend accidents injure two

A Cahokia, Illinois man received minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident Saturday evening at 5:37 p.m. in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, 54-year-old Dean Brewer was traveling northbound on Valley Mines Road in his 2002 Pontiac Sunfire when he traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Brewer was not wearing his seatbelt and was taken to Parkland Health Center by St. Francois County Ambulance with minor injuries.

A Bonne Terre man received minor injuries after a rollover accident Sunday night at 10:38 p.m. in St. Francois County.

According to the patrol report 30-year-old Michael Simshauser was traveling northbound on Highway 47 just south of House Road in his 2001 Toyota Tacoma when he lost control of his vehicle, exited the right side of the road, struck a fence and overturned.

Simshauser’s passenger John Rastorfer of Bonne Terre received minor injuries and was taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center by St. Francois County Ambulance. They were both wearing their seatbelts.
