NEOSHO, Mo. – The Mineral Area women’s basketball team rallied from 12 points down in the first half and seized another Region 16 victory in a venue where it has historically struggled.
Kasia Kiejdrowska continued her recent scoring binge with 28 points and Robneisha Lee netted 25 more as the sophomore guards led MAC past Crowder 75-69 on Saturday.
The 19th-ranked Lady Cardinals charged back to draw within 36-35 just before halftime, and moved in front shortly afterwards. They shot 42 percent from the field and made 12-of-16 free throws.
Kiejdrowska provided the perimeter game by going 7-of-12 from 3-point range, while Lee finished 10-of-15 overall. Ashley Ward chipped in eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Mineral Area (23-3, 8-1) will host first-place State Fair on Saturday with the No. 1 seed in the upcoming region tournament at stake.
