Multiple accidents reported across area

UPDATE: The frequency of reported wrecks has slowed, but we are still getting reports of new wrecks across the region. Continue to use extreme caution and avoid traveling if possible until road crews can treat surfaces.

ORIGINAL: Law enforcement and emergency medical personnel are busy at this time with a rash of accidents, some serious, across the county.

There have been at least two wrecks involving entrapment and rollovers, a three-vehicle wreck involving a tractor trailer on northbound U.S. 67 near St. Francois State Park, and another near the U.S. 67 and Route Y intersection, all in the northern end of the county.

Law enforcement is also responding to an accident on the northern edge of Farmington at this time. as well as a rollover accident with injuries on Route 221 east of Doe Run.

Use extreme caution when driving in that area at this time.
