Chamber readying for Hump Day BBQ
The Park Hills-Leadington Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its 24th annual Hump Day BBQ for late next month.
It is to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25, at the All Occasions Hall, 316 W. Main St., in Park Hills. The cost is $7 per plate to eat on site or to take a meal to go. The cost for delivery is $8 per plate.
The meal will include a barbecued chicken breast or a barbecued pork steak, baked beans, hash brown casserole, bread and a sweet treat.
Fred Schnable of Save-A-Lot, Jim Eaton of First State Community Bank, and Harvey Faircloth, a retired chamber investor, have agreed to take on head chef responsibilities.
Delivery service will be limited to businesses only.
Delivery orders for areas outside of Park Hills, Leadington and Desloge will be taken only on orders of five plates or more. The deadline to place an order for delivery will be 4 p.m. March 24.

Chamber Executive Director Tamara Coleman said the Hump Day BBQ is an extremely popular event. Typically, it sells out, she said.
“It’s a huge community hit,” Coleman said, adding that the sale of 350 to 400 plates per year has been the norm.
