James “”Butch”” W. Ammon Sr.

James W. “Butch” Ammon Sr., 67, died Thursday March 19, 2015 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington. He was born March 16, 1948 in Madison County, the son of Carl V. and Virginia L. (Vaugn) Ammon.

Mr. Ammon married Carol Menteer March 30, 2010 in Park Hills.

Mr. Ammon is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife; sons James W. (Sarah) Ammon Jr. and Michael Ammon, both of St. Louis; daughter Lisa; stepchildren Shawn (Sara) Rogers of Ste. Genevieve and Amber (Brandon) Penberthy of Farmington; and 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Ammon was of the Christian faith and enjoyed racing, the St. Louis Cardinals, and dogs.

Funeral services were March 23 at Follis & Sons Funeral Home. Burial was at Marcus Memorial Park.
