Trivia for a good cause

Hunger knows no season.

The members of the Help the Hungry Bake Sale committee are looking to raise money for the annual event throughout the year in preparation for the 2015 Help the Hungry Bake Sale.

A trivia night is scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 17 at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, located at 210 N. “A” St. in Farmington.

The cost is $10 per person for tables of 10 people. Proceeds from the event go to help the Ministerial Alliance and St. Vincent DePaul food pantries for their work in the community.

The Master of Ceremonies is Kimball Crum.

Water and popcorn will be provided. Soda will be available for purchase, along with baked goods, pies, cakes and cookies.

A number of attendance prizes will also be awarded during the evening and include tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals game as well as gift certificates to local restaurants.

This is the second year the committee has sponsored a trivia night as a way to raise money. Last year’s trivia night netted more than $2,000 and helped towards the bake sale bringing in a record $53,000 for the two local pantries.

Members of the committee said the opportunity to give towards these ministries is year round.
