Julia ‘Presnell’ Boyer

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Mrs. Julia F. (Presnell) Boyer, 88, passed away March 28, 2015, in Lakewood, Colorado. Julia was born in Libertyville, Missouri, September 2, 1925, and was the daughter of Homer and Sadie ‘Wallace’ Presnell. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Paul J. Boyer (1988), originally of Desloge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry, Byron (Jane), Edward, Allen and Glen (Leona) Presnell.

“Judy” as she was fondly known was a longtime faithful member of The Green Mountain Christian Church in Lakewood. She graduated from Mine la Motte High School in 1943. She loved her family and friends and the Rocky Mountains near where she lived. She was a wonderful letter writer and an avid sports fan, particularly of the Denver Broncos. She always said she bled orange and blue. Judy never missed a game on TV while sporting her Bronco fashions with her pom-poms nearby. While she watched the baseball Colorado Rockies, her heart was still that of a St. Louis Cardinal fan. She often told stories of being a young woman and taking the bus from Farmington to St. Louis, to see a game and returning later the same day.

Judy will be sadly missed by her son Michael (Cora) Boyer and two grandchildren: Anthony Boyer and Melissa (Josh) Parsons, all of Lakewood. A sister-in-law, Lee Ann Presnell Modde, of Perryville; several nieces and nephews of this area as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews around the country.

Memorial services Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Green Mountain Christian Church. Burial will be with her husband at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
