Melinda Kennedy
FARMINGTON — Melinda Kennedy, of Farmington, passed away May 4, 2015, at her home at the age of 63 years. She was born in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Leo Comstock and Barbara (McDowell) Kennedy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Schaun Jones in 2014 and a brother, Terry Comstock.
Melinda graduated from high school in Sikeston and went on to work for many years for National Lock in Sikeston. In 1994 she and her husband relocated to Farmington where she went to work as a field supervisor for Pyramid Health Care in Fredericktown. In her spare time, Melinda liked to sew and quilt. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family and playing computer games. Her family will remember her most for her big heart and her willingness to do anything for anyone.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, James Kennedy; her daughter, Barbara Kennedy of Marble Hill; two twin grandchildren, Cory and Courtney Jones; two brothers, Lee (Pat) Comstock of Sikeston and Jimmy (Charissa) Comstock of Dexter; sister-in-law, Evelyn Comstock; daughter-in-law, Charlene Grohmann; and other extended family.
Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 3–4 p.m. followed by a service beginning at 4 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
