Man injured in ATV crash on Memorial Day
A 28-year-old Irondale man was injured Monday in an accident involving an ATV that took place on Route M approximately 150 feet west of Scout Camp Road in Washington County.
Leigh A. Frazer was heading eastbound on Route M on a 1986 Suzuki Quadrunner when the accident happened, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report.
Frazer reportedly experienced problems trying to negotiate a turn then ran off the left side of the road, the report states. After leaving the roadway, the ATV hit a concrete bridge and overturned.
The crash took place at about 11 p.m. Frazer reportedly suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Washington County Ambulance to Parkland Health Center-Weber.
Frazer was not wearing a safety device, according to the report.
Also in Washington County on Sunday evening at 6:35 p.m., a Potosi woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident off Highway 21 just south of Route E.
The report states that 39-year-old David DeClue of Belgrade and 32-year-old Timothy Minard of Cadet were both traveling northbound on Highway 21. DeClue was preparing to make a left hand turn in his 2004 Dodge Durango into a private drive when Minard attempted to pass DeClue on the left in his 1997 Ford Ranger and collided with DeClue.
DeClue’s occupant, 17-year-old Blakley Phares of Potosi received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Jefferson by Washington County Ambulance. Everyone was wearing their seat belts.
