Modern Woodmen help the Daisy Girl Scouts beautify Senior Center

Members of the Fredericktown Modern Woodmen Summit Chapter came together for National Day of Service (May 2, 2015) to JOIN Hands with the Daisy Girl Scout Troop 70021.

The chapter donated a flower pot and flowers to Madison County Senior Center to help beautify the entrance to the senior center. The Daisies had a good time filling the pot with dirt and putting in the flowers, and enjoyed the refreshments afterward. They all will receive their Gardening Badge for their efforts.

Modern Woodmen groups nationwide helped their communities through various volunteer projects that day.

“Our members feel good by doing good and being part of a nationally recognized event,” says Shirley Miller, local Modern Woodmen contact.

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, Summit chapters provide fun and fulfilling experience to fit the busy lifestyle of those 55 and over.

As a tax-exempt fraternal financial services organization, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve quality of life for our members, their families, and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable, and volunteer activities.
