Woman seriously injured in Leadington crash

An area woman was seriously injured in a crash on Woodlawn Road at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. 

According to Leadington Police Chief Dustin McKinney, a woman, possibly in her 70s, was driving south on Woodlawn Drive when a vehicle began to turn into the parking lot of Crown Motors. The woman’s vehicle struck the front part of the man’s vehicle, spinning the car around. 

The woman suffered serious injuries to her leg and was airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment. The other driver had minor injuries. 

Names and ages of the drivers were not known at press time. 

In another accident, a Park Hills woman was injured in a crash in Bollinger County Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Heaven Marsh, 21, was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment of moderate injuries.

The report states she was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer on Highway 72 near Highway 51 at 2:20 p.m. when she struck the rear of a 2007 Mack tractor driven by Aaron Francis, 66, of Fredericktown.

Both were wearing a seat belt and Francis was not injured.

An Augusta, Mo. man received serious injuries in a crash on Route M in Washington County Saturday night.

According to reports, Matthew Wunderli, 26, was taken by Air Evac to Mercy-Creve Couer. Patrol reports state he was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer near Cedar Creek Road at 11:45 p.m. when he lost control on a curve, ran off the roadway and struck a tree. He was wearing a seat belt.
