Man charged with molestation stemming from public beach incident
A local man is facing serious charges after a boy reported being inappropriately touched while swimming.
Michael Stokes, 22, of Park Hills, has been charged with enticement of a child, an unclassified felony, and two Class B felony charges of child molestation. His bond is set at $250,000.
According to court records, a boy under the age of 14 told police that Stokes touched his genitals while he and others were swimming at St. Joe State Park.
When questioned by the investigator, Stokes admitted to touching the boy’s genitals at least twice. He also admitted that the week before he messaged the boy through Facebook about playing a game where they would each drop their pants. Stokes told the boy that it was normal for guys to see each other naked.
