Miller takes new position at MAC

PARK HILLS – Ellen Miller has joined Mineral Area College faculty as a full-time reading instructor.

For nine years, Miller taught kindergarten and second grade for the Farmington R-7 School District, and was an active member of the district’s positive behavior support, curriculum, instructional practices inventory, curriculum and safety committees.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree in teaching from Missouri Baptist University.

Missouri State announces Dean’s List

Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the Dean’s List. For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the spring semester and at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.00 scale).

The following students from the Farmington were named to the Dean’s List: Jonah R. Barnes; Zachary S. Fletcher; Dylan D. Gaige; Emily A. Goodson; Rebecca Hoff; Bradley D. Light; and Caitlin N. Whitener.

Southeast Missouri announces spring Dean’s List

Southeast Missouri State University has announced its Dean’s List for academic achievement during the spring 2015 semester.

Students named to the list earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and completed at least 12 degree credit hours during the spring session.

The following students from the Farmington area were named to the Dean’s List: Tessa Anderson; Garrett Callahan; Jonathan Comfort; Alison Fischbeck; Camilla Frew; Paige Gallagher; Natalie Hoehn; Mckinzie Johnson; Alexis King; Kathleen Koppeis; Victoria LaChance; Kayla Mengwasser; Kylie Mitchell; Mallory Moore; Rachel Porter; Shelby Ratliff; Sarah Ray; Haley Roberts; and Kristen Shaver.

Southeast Missouri State University has announced its Dean’s List for academic achievement during the summer 2015 semester.

Students named to the list earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and completed at least 12 degree credit hours during the summer session.

The following students from the Farmington area were named to the Dean’s List for the summer 2015 semester: Kayla Cole; Clairessa Davis; Zachary Henson; Natalie Hoehn; Shelby Ratliff; and Haley Roberts.

State Technical College announces spring 2015 Dean’s List 

LINN– State Technical College would like to congratulate students who are eligible for the Dean’s List for the 2015 spring semester.

The list includes Jennifer Hackworth of Farmington.

To be placed on the Dean’s List, a full-time student must earn a semester grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0 on a 4-point scale.

Local graduate from Central Methodist

Central Methodist University has announced its summer graduating class of 2015 according to President Roger Drake. Nearly 300 students were recognized during the commencement ceremonies.

Millicent Chitwood of Farmington earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from CMU in Union.

Students were recognized during the commencement ceremonies in the St. Louis area on Aug. 6 and in Union on Aug. 4. These are two of CMU’s many extended locations
