Bank robbed, suspect sought

The Farmington Police Department and the St. Louis Office of the FBI are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at First Bank, 755 Weber Road in Farmington.

According to a press release issued by the police department, the investigation revealed that at 3:03 p.m., a suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and passed a note demanding the money. No weapon was displayed.

The suspect left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was later observed from a surveillance video, entering a dark gray, Dodge extended cab pickup truck with tinted windows. The suspect traveled south on Maple Valley Drive, and west on Karsch Blvd. toward U.S. 67.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 25 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 8, 165 pounds, wearing a white long sleeve Under Armor shirt, camouflage hat, black pants and dark shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Farmington Police Department at 573-756-6686.

This was the second time the bank has been robbed in recent months. In June, after robbing the bank, a suspect wrecked his vehicle on the Mineral Area College campus. He was later identified as 45-year-old Steven Michael Barrientez, of Arizona, who has an extensive criminal history.
