FFA Officers Participate in Area Rituals Contest

If you’ve ever been to an FFA meeting you know that there is a specific way that the meeting has to be held.

Each officer has to say a certain part and each has a responsibility to know that part. In the FFA this ritual is known as Opening Ceremonies.

Recently, officers of the Fredericktown FFA Chapter participated in a competition against other area FFA Chapters to see who the best at conducting the ceremony was. The officers attending where expected to conduct opening and closing ceremonies which includes the Pledge of Allegiance. Judging criteria included voice, accuracy, and pose. The officers who represented the Fredericktown FFA Chapter were President – Hunter Kay, Vice President – Coleman Erwin, Treasure – Taylor Sikes, Sentinel – Cathryn Davis, Reporter – Hannah Lewis, and Secretary- Will Clark. Other officers that went to support their chapter were Secretary- Wyatt Boushie, Treasurer- Morgan Brunk, Reporter- Kate Royer, Parliamentarian- Austin Craig, Assistant Treasurer- Sam Cooper, Assistant Reporter- Reva Wheeling, Assistant Sentinel- Lauren Bathe, Assistant Parliamentarian- Emily Winkleman, and Assistant 2nd Vice President- Braden Matthews. While the officer team did not finish in the top three teams we hope to improve next year.
