Central’s Rebel Theatre Troupe presents ‘The Creature Creeps!’

Central High School’s Rebel Theatre Troupe will be performing “The Creature Creeps!” on today and Friday at 7 p.m. in the Glenn V. Hill Auditorium at Central High School. Tickets are $4 each and can be purchased at the door.

A comedy by Jack Sharkey, the story takes place in the parlor of Castle Von Blitzen in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania. Among the sounds of creaking doors and shrieks from the depths of the cellar, a mad scientist is secretly conducting experiments with help from his deformed assistant.

Complications arise with the arrival of his clueless daughter, her stalwart fiancé, friend and his wife’s four sisters. A creepy housekeeper adds to the comedy while the mystery unfolds.

“We don’t know who the creature is,” said Jamie Weiss, the troupe’s director, lending an air of mystery to the horror-genre spoof. “At the core of it is the question, ‘What’s really going on here?’”
