Potosi High School to present ‘Shrek: The Musical’
The Potosi High School Drama Club/Thespian Society, in association with the choral department, will be presenting “Shrek: The Musical” tonight through Sunday at the school.
Emily Lewis is music director and Holli Segura, theater director for the show.
“The cast this year has been selected for their many unique talents and abilities,” said Segura. “This show is based on the deeper story within the cartoon movie we all know and love. With an interesting variety of songs from ‘Who I’d Be’ to the showstopper ‘Freak Banner,’ this show is sure to keep crowds of all ages on their feet.”
Segura added that production numbers in the show include “Travel Song,” “Story of my Life,” and “I Think I Got You Beat.” Starring in the musical are Shrek: Thomas Peirce, junior; Lord Farquaad: Arthur Wands, senior; Donkey: Dillon Carl, senior; and Princess Fiona: Tiffany Everitt, senior.
Showtimes are Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and faculty; and $7 for the general public. Ages 5 and under are free.
