Tinnin retires after 51 years
Sharron Tinnin started working for the Missouri Department of Social Services in Madison County in December of 1964.
Wednesday, after 51 years, serving in nearly every capacity possible in the office, Sharron celebrated her retirement.
“The state has given me a great opportunity that I wouldn’t have had any other place,” Tinnin said. “I’ve met some wonderful friends.”
December 30, those friends, along with relatives, co-workers, and even former co-workers gathered at the local office to recognize Sharron’s years of service and wish her their best upon her retirement.
“I’m excited about retiring and we probably have many staff members who feel the same way,” Sharron joked.
Sharron said she was looking forward to the next chapter in her life.
“It has been a wonderful 51 years,” she said. “I know it seems like an eternity, but it’s been a good life for me. It’s been a good life, but it just feels like the best for me is coming.”

Retiring after 51 years with the Missouri Department of Social Services, Sharron Tinnin receives some kind words and recognition from Kim Mazzocchio, Regional Administrator, Southeast Region.
