PCC marks Crime Victims’ Rights Week April 15

Every year, millions of people are impacted by crime. April 10-16 is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, a time to celebrate progress, raise awareness of victims’ rights and services, and stand with those whose lives have been altered by crime.

Potosi Correctional Center is hosting its annual Crime Victims’ Rights Ceremony on April 15 from 2 to 3 p.m. The event will be held in the visiting room lobby, which is just inside the entrance of the institution.

This year’s ceremony will feature remarks from Shannon Southern-Ragsdale regarding her experience as a victim of domestic violence. Josh Hedgecorth will speak of his efforts toward obtaining justice for victims as Washington County’s prosecuting attorney.

The ceremony will conclude with a gift presented by Sandy Conway, PCC Restorative Justice Coordinator, on behalf of PCC Offenders to Stephanie Bennett representing the SEMO Family Violence COuncil.
