Festus downs Raiders in tennis

FESTUS – Monday’s rains stopped in time for the North County Raiders to get in their tennis meet in the afternoon against the  Festus Tigers on dry courts.

Dan Jackson was the only player to win a match for North County as he routed Alex Tinnin 8-5 in their No. 4 singles match.

Festus swept all three doubles, but Jackson and Carter Mecey gave Festus’ Michael Hawkins and Ethan Cook a solid challenge at No. 2 before falling 8-6.

North County (1-5) will be back in action on Wednesday at Crystal City.
