Friday Club holds meeting at Depot

The GFWC Friday Club had a lovely luncheon meeting April 15 at The Depot restaurant with all members present. Millie Bentinganan gave an entertaining devotional which left us with the advice that it is better to say “I’m fine with a grin, rather than the actual shape you are in.”

Margaret Miller reported on the District meeting in Ste. Genevieve that she and Radha Rao attended. President Miller also informed the group that the Fredericktown Garden Club will have a Garden Tour June 18 from one until five. The tour will include the gardens of three Fredericktown homes as well as the City Garden. The gardens will include the Tower House on Burris Street, Sheila Brewen’s garden on South Main, and Diane Thompson’s garden on Farrar Street. The cost of the tour will be $10.

The remainder of the meeting was spent with the prince and princess pageant committee reporting on the details of the plans for this year’s pageant which will be 7 p.m., May 5 at the Fredericktown High School Gym. The club’s next meeting will be May 20 at the Presbyterian Church for a covered dish luncheon.
