John E. Nelms Sr.

BONNE TERRE — John Nelms Sr., 87, of Herculaneum, passed away May 2, 2016, at Scenic Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born on November 3, 1928, in Globe, Arizona, to the late John O. and Irene (House) Nelms.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Coleen Snider; and grandson, Brent Nelms.

John is survived by his wife, Marcella Nelms; five children, John E. Nelms Jr., Timothy Nelms and wife Soni, Rebecca Flatbush and husband David, Cecil Nelms, Ben Nelms and wife Kathie; sixteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Wednesday, May 4, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Danny Pyeatt officiating.
