MAC’s math, science fair sees many winners

Mineral Area College’s Math and Science Fair saw quite a few winners when it was held April 8 in the Robert E. Sechrest Sr. Fieldhouse.

The annual event encourages scientific study among students in grades 6-12 who compete in categories of Psychology, Math, Computer Science, Behavioral and Social Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Engineering, Physics and Product Testing.

Rothman Harris, a student at Farmington Middle School, won “Middle School Best of Fair” for his biology entry, “The Effect of Pollutants on Bioluminescent Bacteria.” Kyle Johnson of Potosi High School, won “High School Best of Fair” for his engineering entry, “Measuring Fuel Efficiency of a Valveless Pulsejet.”
