MADISON COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES

May 16, 2016 the Madison County Commission met pursuant to adjournment with the following members present: Presiding Commissioner Bob Mooney First District Commissioner Tom Stephens and Second District Commissioner Jim Thompson. County Clerk Don Firebaugh recorded the proceedings.

ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT

Road and Bridge Supervisor Gregg Pruett said minimal damage to county roads incurred from the heavy rain last week. He said all the dump trucks were currently operational and the department will be grading CR 421 this week.

COMMISSIONER REPORTS

Commissioner Mooney and County Clerk Firebaugh attended the quarterly Missouri Association of Counties board meeting in Jefferson City last week. Commissioner Mooney also attended the County Commissioner’s board meeting and Firebaugh attended the Legislative Committee meeting. Updates were given on many different issues in the legislature that affect county government. The final day for this session is May 13, 2016. Several area state legislators were visited at the Capitol.

Commissioner Stephens checked on several roads, bridges and culverts, and visited the Road and Bridge department. Gregg Pruett and Commissioner Stephens checked on a culvert problem on CR 424 in the Jewett community.

Commissioner Thompson visited the Sheriff’s department and the E-911 department. He also looked at several county roads in District Two.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Accounts payable were presented to the commission for approval and payment.

Commissioner Stephens made a motion to approve accounts payable. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Thompson. The motion carried.

No further business was transacted May 16, 2016. Presiding Commissioner Mooney adjourned the open meeting at 10:45 a.m.
