Eagles Auxiliary donates to local nursing homes

The Fredericktown Eagles Lodge Ladies Auxiliary recently donated iPOD Shuffle’s, headphones, and iTunes gift cards as part of a program implemented at Stockhoff Nursing Home. According to the nursing home, studies show personalized music helps “individuals with dementia and other physical/mental impairments reconnect with memories and improve their relationships with family, caregivers and friends.” Pictured accepting the donation with the residents are Libby Wood (social services) and Kristen Starkey (D.O.N.). Walmart also donated a $25 gift card to help purchase the items.
