Woman injured after being struck by towed vehicle
A Potosi woman was injured early Thursday morning when she attempted to stop a towed vehicle from rolling.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:29 a.m. on Missouri Highway 185, one mile south of Route N in Washington County. The report indicated that a 1998 Ford F150, driven by Brian R. Isert, 36, of Potosi, was towing another vehicle south on Highway 185 when the towed vehicle began to roll.
Pedestrian Melissa M. Ball, 30, also of Potosi, attempted to stop the towed vehicle from rolling when she fell and was struck by the vehicle.
She reportedly received serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Isert, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
