Troop E prepares for Thanksgiving Holiday traffic

Captain Jeffrey N. Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces that on November 23, and November 27, 2016, Troop E officers will take part in a peak travel crash reduction enforcement program in an effort to promote safety and to reduce the number of traffic crashes in the Troop E area.

This means Troop E will assign a trooper every 20 miles on Interstates 55 and 57, and on other selected secondary roads. The objective of the project is to place a trooper in close proximity of motorists who may need assistance and to enforce aggressively all traffic violations which may contribute to unsafe traveling conditions. The Patrol is committed to continuing to reduce crashes and fatalities through our education and enforcement efforts.

The only 100 percent survivable crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “Don’t Violate The Trust.”
