Govreau named ‘Student of the Month’
The Farmington Elks Lodge #1765 is proud to announce Emma Govreau is the Farmington High School Student of the Month for December. She is the daughter of Teresa and Daniel Govreau of Farmington.
Her honors and awards include FFA Greenhand Degree, FFA Chapter Degree, FFA Star Greenhand 2014-15, FFA Star Chapter Farmer 2015-16, Best of Show 3D 2015 MAC Art Show, first place in Ceramics 2016 at the SEMO University High School Art Show, 2016 SEMO Art Academy Award, top eight in the 2016 Missouri 8th Congressional District Art Competition, first place in Fibers and first place in Ceramics at the 2016 Margaret Harwell Juried Regional High School Art Show, and Best of Show at the 2016 Margaret Harwell Juried Regional High School Art Show. She was the Reserved Champion in Cured Meats at the 2016 St. Francois County Fair.
Govreau is the FFA Chapter Vice President (2016-17) and FHS Art Club President (2015-17). She is a member of the National Honor Society (2015-17), FFA Chapter member (2014-17), Black Knight Marching Band Member (2013-17), Jazz Lab member (2013-14), and a Concert Band and Symphonic Band member (2013-17). Her other activities includes being a youth group member at her church and helping out in five Vacation Bible Schools held during the summer.
After graduation from high school, Govreau intends to go to Mineral Area College to pursue an Associate of Arts degree and transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to finish her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education. As December’s Student of the Month, Govreau will receive a $100 grant and compete for the Farmington Elks Farmington High School Student of the Year to be awarded in May.
