Area man injured in accident

A Saturday afternoon crash on southbound US 67 left one man injured and slowed traffic for a short period of time.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, responders were dispatched to US 67 and Route Y at 3:32 p.m. for an accident involving two pickup trucks.

According to the report, Mark A. Drysdale, 24 of Doniphan, was traveling westbound on Route Y in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 when he attempted to cross US 67. The report states Drysdale pulled into the path of a 2002 Ford F250 driven by James E. Wheeler, 26, of Mineral Point, who was heading south on US 67.

Drysdale suffered moderate injuries from the accident and was transported to Parkland Health Center by St. Francois County Ambulance. Drysdale was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident.

The reports states that both trucks were totaled as a result of the accident.
