Vehicle hits Hobby Lobby

A local business sustained damage to a front window following what is believed to be a medical episode on Monday.

According to Farmington Police Chief Rick Baker, driver Deborah A. Thomas, 62, of Ste. Genevieve, was attempting to park a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe at Hobby Lobby in Farmington about 2:45 p.m. Monday when the vehicle collided with a front window at the store.

Thomas told personnel at the scene she did not remember the collision. The report states emergency personnel on the scene reported no signs of impairment or intoxication. The driver was transported to Parkland Health Center in Farmington by St. Francois County Ambulance District for a medical evaluation.

The majority of the building damage was contained to the four-paned windows with minor structural damage. A building inspector arrived on the scene and deemed the building safe. Business carried on as usual during the incident.

Store management reported there was no one in the front lobby when the accident occurred. There was damage to some of the merchandise located in the lobby.

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 47 in front of Dairy Queen in Bonne Terre about 4 p.m. Monday after one vehicle pulled into the path of another vehicle. One person was taken by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. No additional details were available at press time.
