Storms, hail possible tonight

While warm and dry conditions will be the order of the day, people in the Parkland can expect to see a strong cold front move into the area from the northwest between the hours of 6-9 p.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service is expecting the system will bring with it the likelihood of several strong thunderstorms, along with some gusty winds and a good chance for dime- to quarter-sized hail due to the cold air in the mid-levels of the atmosphere.

Although there is also a small chance of tornadoes forming with these storms, the likelihood doesn’t appear great at this time.

What’s really going to be a shock to the system is a throwback to January-type weather on Saturday when it appears there will be a good chance of measurable snow moving into southeast Missouri.
