Buffington named BHS ‘Student of the Month’

Farmington Elks Lodge 1765 has announced its selection of Emily Buffington as Bismarck High School “Student of the Month” for March.

The daughter of Donald and Peggy Buffington, the graduating senior has been on the honor roll every year of her high school career. Buffington was nominated to the United States Achievement Academy awards program and is a member of National Honor Society and Pep Club. She serves as vice president of the Christian Club and is very involved in her church where she teaches Sunday school. Buffington also works at Country Kids Daycare.

She is dually enrolled in classes at Mineral Area College and has been accepted to attend college there next year. Buffington plans to complete her Associate of Arts Degree in Applied Science and later transfer to a four-year university to be a pediatrician.

As a student of the month she receives $100 and will be competing for the Elk Student of the Year award that will be given out in May.
