Chamber ready to hit the links

The Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the 12th annual golf tournament at Crown Pointe Golf Club on July 21.

“We currently have 14 teams registered, so we are about halfway there,” said Laura Raymer, director of operations and member engagement for the chamber. “We can handle probably 26 to 28 teams. We specifically do not make the event too big, so all of our teams can finish at a reasonable hour.”

Registration for a golf team of four is $375 and includes lunch, beverages, mulligans and skins. For an additional fee, teams can choose to register at the Fast Pass rate which includes the registration fee plus the cost of three hole games. The cost of the Fast Pass is $435.

Lunch and registration will begin at noon with a 1 p.m shotgun start for the four person scramble.

According to Raymer, this year’s sponsor is Parkland Health Center but there are opportunities for sponsorship from other companies.

“We still have a hole sponsorship available,” Raymer said. “We also have one game hole available and three tee hosts available.”

During the day, guest will have plenty of opportunities to walk away with some prizes. According to Raymer, the Centene Corporation donated door prize money which the chamber will use to purchase golf related items. Additionally, the chamber has other prizes including Visa gift cards and gift cards to Crown Pointe Golf Club.

The chamber also announced golfers will have a chance for a $10,000 hole-in-one prize.

“Someone could actually walk away with a $10, 000,” Raymer said. “Last year we offered a trip to the Masters, but this year we decided to offer cash instead.”

To win, all a player has to do is make a hole-in-one on a specific hole and he or she can walk away with the financial windfall.

Those who are unable to make it to the golf tournament can still have an opportunity to promote their business by purchasing a hole sponsorship for $100. With a hole sponsorship, a company’s name or logo will be placed at a tee box.

Additionally, a company can also be a Tee Host Sponsor. For $200, a company will be the exclusive sponsor on a hole and will be able to spend time visiting with the players.

Companies can also choose to purchase door prize sponsorships as well. For $250, a company will be recognized on multiple door prize items.

Finally, Hole Game Sponsorships are available for $300 each and provide the company the opportunity to be present at a hole game to engage with all of the golf participants throughout the day.

In addition, a Hole Game sponsor will have its company logo place on all pre-event correspondence and also on the sponsored tee box.

Although the golf tournament is a great way to network, Raymer does emphasize it is also a day to have fun and make new friends.

“It is a great opportunity to network,” Raymer said. “But it is also a great time to make have some fun and make new friends. Some of the players are new to the area and looking for opportunities like this to meet new people and build new friendships.”

Raymer also added that the tournament is open companies and teams who are not chamber members.
