MADISON COUNTY COMMISSION MINUTES

June 26, 2017 the Madison County Commission met with the following members present: Presiding Commissioner Robert (Bob) Mooney, First District Commissioner Tom Stephens and Second District Commissioner Larry Kemp. David Goncher from Colonial Life Insurance attended the meeting.

ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT

Road and Bridge Supervisor Gregg Pruett said the department is working on CR 208, CR 236, CR 246 and CR 249 from damages caused by the heavy rain on Friday morning.

COLONIAL LIFE INSURANCE

David Goncher, Colonial Life Insurance representative presented a supplemental insurance program that provides vision, dental, life and other plans and the cost of each plan. The Commissioners will later decide if the county will accept the insurance.

REPORTS

All three Commissioners attended the Madison County Progress Initiative (MCPI) meeting last week. They also attended the formal opening of CR 217 Bridge over Village Creek.

Commissioner Stephens said he checked on some roads last week and also talked to a TIF developer.

Commissioner Kemp checked the condition of several county roads.

Presiding Commissioner Mooney and Commissioner Kemp attended a FEMA meeting at Black River Electric last week concerning the damage to county roads and bridges.

Carol Hovis called and asked the Commission to thank the Road and Bridge department for the outstanding work they did on CR 330.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Accounts payable were presented for approval and payment.

Commissioner Kemp made a motion to approve the accounts payable. The motion was seconded by Commission Stephens. The motion carried.

No further business was transacted June 26, 2017. Commissioner Mooney adjourned the meeting at 11:25 a.m.
