Martin Connell

IRONTON — Martin Daniel Connell of Ironton, MO, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at the age of 65 years, 1 month, and 15 days. He was born June 2, 1952, in Salem, MO, to Lester and Juanita Cook Connell. On November 26, 1983 Martin was united in marriage to Linda Rainey who survives.

Also surviving are six children, Beau Daniel Connell and wife Angela of Farmington, Yvonne Cole and husband Bobby of Ironton, Shawn Connell and wife Jennifer of Salem, Becky Eggers of Leadwood, Amy Waldram and husband Jay of Farmington, and Scott Butery and wife Maria of Bismarck; four brothers, Larry Connell, Gary Connell, John Connell, Nolan Connell; four sisters, Orian Byington, Wanda Smart, June Baum, Janet Glenn; 21 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Amanda Connell.

Martin graduated from Salem High School in 1970, retired from Kroger as a produce manager, and worked for MO-DOT for many year where he retired as well. On top of working hard to support his family, Martin was an avid hunter and outdoors man.

A Life Celebration in honor of Martin will be held on Saturday, July 22, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Iron Mountain First Baptist. Visitation for Martin will be held Friday, July 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cole Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services in the Iron Mountain Cemetery. Reverend John Canterberry will be officiating the services.
