Donations accepted for ‘A Friend’s Place’

The Farmington Kiwanis is holding a collection drive through the month of August for “A Friend’s Place” shelter operated by the Southeast Missouri Family Violence Council. The Daily Journal and Farmington Press offices are two drop-off locations for items need at the shelter.

Those items include dish and laundry detergent, paper products, cleaning supplies, hygiene items, along with school supply, baby items, toys, women and children’s new or slightly used clothing, cookware and first aid items among other things.

Bring in any of the items to the Daily Journal office, located at 1513 St. Joe Dr. in Park Hills, or the Farmington Press office, located at 227 E. Columbia St. in Farmington, until the end of the month. Those donating items will be entered in a drawing for a one-year subscription.

Entries from both locations will be combined to select one winner.
