John Bieser recognized last week’s photo, showing himself along with Kevin Morrow ,Gary McGuire, Chuck (Goose) Reid, Jim Schaner, Roger Vessell and Jay Stewart. Bieser said he still has the photo of the team which, guided by Coach Jack Richardson, took first or second in every meet. Five members of the team qualified for state that year, according to Bieser. He added 1973 was the first year Farmington High School introduced girls track – with both teams taking first in the conference. This week’s photo features Richardson and his assistant coach Jim Simpson with the trophy earned by the Farmington Knights for reaching the Class AAA semifinals in 1969.
