Dorothy Pearl Reed

DESLOGE — Dorothy P. Reed, 91, of Viburnum, Missouri, passed away December 30, 2017, at Stonecrest Healthcare Nursing Home. She was born on May 29, 1926, in Owl Creek, Missouri, to the late William and Mabel (French) Boland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Wilson Reed; sister, Ida Avergenis; brothers, Jesse Boland and Willam Boland.

Dorothy attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Viburnum and was a member of the Eastern Star and Garden Club. She helped organize cub scouts and served as a den mother for over 20 years. Dorothy will also be remembered as a lunch room supervisor in Viburnum Public School.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Wilson and wife Mary Reed, William and wife Lesa Reed, and Dwight and wife Kimberly Reed; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. in the Desloge Chapel of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Homes with Rev. Evan Bell officiating.
