Carolyn Hughes

FARMINGTON – Mrs. Carolyn Sue Hughes, 69, passed away January 2, 2018, at Southeast Hospital, Cape Girardeau. Carolyn was born November 11, 1948, in Carlinville, Illinois, and was the daughter of Clarence Smith and Helen ‘Bivin’ Smith.

Carolyn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington.

Survivors include her husband, Larry G. Hughes, of Farmington; Two children, Eric J. Hughes, of Farmington and Ann (Kent) Wagner, of Fairdealing, Missouri; Two sisters, Diane Rekert, of Gillispie, Illiinois, and Shirley Delong, of Carlinville, Illinois; Four brothers, David (Sharry) Smith, of Plainview, Illinois, Irvin Smith, of Heddic, Illinois, Bill (Connie) Terry, of Woodriver, Illinois, and Gene Smith, of Carlinville, Illinois; Five grandchildren, Lawrence James Hughes, Hanna Marie Hughes, Allison (James) Blalock, Anthony Scott Burkhart and Brody Wagner.

Visitation starts Saturday at noon with a Memorial Service Saturday, 2 p.m., January 6, 2018, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, with Rev. Doug Tucker officiating. Private interment was held at Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
