Colin Higgins

CAPE GIRARDEAU — Colin Patrick Higgins, 16, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. He was born August 26, 2001, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Patrick Joseph and Amy Smith Higgins.

Colin was a student at Notre Dame Regional High School where he was a member of the tennis team. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He liked spending time on his computer and going to the lake with his dad and brother.

Survivors include his father, Patrick J. Higgins of Jackson, Missouri; his mother and stepfather, Amy J. and Timothy John Vollink of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one sister, Taylor Higgins and a twin brother, Matthew Higgins both of Cape Girardeau; grandparents, Thomas and Mary Higgins of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Larry and Jean Smith of Bonne Terre, Missouri and Dennis and Kathy Vollink of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; stepbrother, Conner Vollink and stepsister, Adrianna Vollink both of Burfordville, Missouri; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be at at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with The Most Reverend Edward M. Rice officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Colin Higgins Notre Dame Scholarship Fund.
