Kimberly Rae Cable

Kimberly Rae Cable, 52, of Gainesville, Texas, died March 24, 2018 in Gainesville. Kim was born December 16, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Gerald and Francis L. (Cockrell) Woodward.

Mrs. Cable was preceded in death by her parents; sister Teresa Finch; and brother Gerald Woodward Jr.

Survivors include: husband Jack Cable of Gainesville; daughter Samantha Rae Cable of Gainesville; brother-in-law Joe Tom Cable and wife Tammy Lowrance Cable of Nocona, Texas; brother-in-law John Ray Cable and wife Tracie of Burleson, Texas; brother-in-law Darrell Finch of Fredericktown; sisters-in-law Jennifer Cable of New Braunfels and Jillan Hammon of Fort Worth; niece Alexa Brewen of Fredericktown; and nephew Andrew Finch of St. Louis.

Kim was raised and graduated high school in Ballwin, Missouri, where she won a state championship as a member of the softball team. Kim accepted a scholarship to continue playing softball at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she met Jack Cable. The two were married in Las Vegas on December 1, 1990. Kim was also successful flipping houses and prospecting and enjoyed race horses. She was able to pass her love and knowledge of softball on to her daughter, Sam, by coaching her teams for many years. 

A service to memorialize the life of Kimberly Rae Cable is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home (of Gainesville, Texas) with Pastor Darrell Finch officiating.
