MAC Elks announce February students of the month

Mineral Area Community Elks 2583 has announced its February students of the month for Central, North County and West County high schools.

Central High School’s student of the month is senior Cherith Laubinger.

“Cherith is an outstanding student who is ranked near the top of her class,” said Ken Halter, counselor. “She is involved in concert choir and swing choir. Outside of school, Cherith serves her community well. She is an active member of her church youth group, volunteers to work in the concession stand for the Upward Basketball program, has served on international mission trips and has an amazing passion for the Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child Program).”

North County High School’s student of the month is senior Miranda Black.

“Miranda is very involved in school,” said Dawn Duncan, counselor. “She has been a part of the volleyball and soccer teams here at North County and has participated in many clubs. Miranda plans to pursue a career in education after she graduates high school. Raider Nation is very proud of Miranda.”

West County High School’s student of the month is senior Deaven Thomure.

“Deaven was nominated because he is a very responsible student,” said Jennifer Seabourne, counselor. “He plans to attend college in the fall and is known to be kind, courteous and always helpful to students and teachers.”
