Two injured in separate accidents
Two people were moderately injured in unrelated crashes recently in Washington County.
A Mineral Point woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday at 4:05 p.m. off Route U.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Margaret Eckhoff, 84, was driving her 2002 Chrysler Cruiser southbound on Route U a quarter mile north of Hopewell Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Eckhoff was wearing her seat belt and was taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center by Washington County Ambulance with moderate injuries.
In an unrelated accident Monday evening, Jeffery Anderson, 28, of Bonne Terre, was driving his 2014 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Highway 47 north of Edgewood Road when he went off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected to the left causing the vehicle to overturn.
Anderson was not injured, but his passenger Makala Vest, 22, also of Bonne Terre, was taken to Parkland Health Center by St. Francois County Ambulance with moderate injuries. Neither of them were wearing a seat belt.
